Rare Old Historic Antique Nautical Chart Reproduction showing Edgartown Harbor | Cotamy Bay Massachusetts 1871

A fascinating chart showcasing the results of a study produced to show the history of the Cotamy / South beach openings.  This was an extremely important harbor of refuge for vessels approaching Muskeget channel in heavy weather. Chart shows nice detail including numerous soundings, individual wharves and Chappaquiddick Point. Information on soundings and tides are shown, and the Martha’s Vineyard National Bank is used as a water level benchmark.
