Very rare full color chart of Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, published by Fielding Lucas in 1852 (dated) this very desirable working sea chart is linen backed and framed to the highest conservation standards.  Chart shows detail from the port of Philadelphia and Wrightsville to as far south as the Virginia and Delaware capes. Shown are numerous soundings, Light vessels, shoals and other dangers. 

In addition several profile drawings show lighthouse approach views.

Baltimore mapmaker Fielding Lucas (1781-1854) Attained recognition for his accuracy and detail and published numerous Atlas collections and served on several local political boards and councils. The chart was engraved by John and William W. Warr

Chart is in very good condition, with some minor staining as shown.
