Fascinating nautical map of Boston/Massachusetts bay published by the United States Coast Survey in 1905 (dated) Believed to be the first and only map that shows Humarock as an island. During the Portland Gale of 1898 November 24 November 26th) a new river entrance broke through, just north of Fourth Cliff in Humarock and the existing mouth at Rexhame Ma, stayed open for  full two years, effictivley making Humarock an Island. Eventually, the old mouth at Rexhame filled in and  bridges were builtl from Humarock to the mainland.
