Beautifil nautical map of Bar Harbor and vicinity published by George W. Eldridge Company in 1909. Nicely detailed chart shows numerous soundings, shoals and other dangers. Landmarks such as Sheep Porcupine Island, Bar Island, Round Porcupine Island, Rodick's Cove, Strawberry Hill. George Eldridge was a fisherman working out of Chatham, Mass and while convalescing from an ilness, he starting publishing nautical charts of New England. Later, his son took over the business and worked in Vineyard Haven, Mass. Chronometer and Watch company W.E. Hadlock and Company, was also an agent in Boston for the Eldridge Company.
